"DG ISPR Stresses Pakistan Army's National Identity and Respect for All Political Parties in Press Conference"

According to the ISPR DG, the Pakistan Army has cleared 65% of the tribal areas in K-P of landmines. In addition, he mentioned the implementation of socio-economic projects aimed at achieving long-term stability and peace in the region, specifically in K-P's tribal areas. The projects cost Rs162 billion, and 85% of them, including markets, educational institutions, hospitals, and communication infrastructure, have been completed. Furthermore, 95% of the affected population has returned home.

The ISPR DG also noted improvements in the peace and order situation in Balochistan, attributing this progress to the Pakistani forces and law-enforcement agencies' efforts. These agencies have made significant sacrifices to ensure the security of CPEC and other projects.

The Pakistan Army has reviewed its operational and non-operational expenses due to the current economic conditions and decided to reduce all types of costs for the benefit of the economy. As a result, expenses related to petroleum, ration, construction, non-operational procurement, training, non-operational movement, simulator training, and online meetings are being reduced through the use of modern technology.

When asked about Gen (retd) Qamar Jawed Bajwa's influence on the military, the ISPR DG emphasized that the nation was the center of "real power" and that everyone was entitled to their opinion. The army's primary focus is to eliminate terrorism from the country, and it respects all political parties.

The ISPR DG's recent press conference was his first since taking over the position in December 2022, replacing Lt-Gen Babar Iftikhar.
