Today, a solemn ceremony took place at the mausoleum of Pakistan’s founding father, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, in Karachi, commemorating Defense Day. Air Vice Marshal Ghazanfar Latif, the Officer Commanding of the PAF Academy, graced the occasion as the special guest.
Draped in reverence, cadets from the Pakistan Air Force stood tall as they took over the guard duties at Quaid’s mausoleum. A total of 57 cadets, including seven women, participated in the ceremony, symbolizing the dedication and diversity of Pakistan’s armed forces.
In a heartfelt moment, Air Vice Marshal Ghazanfar Latif laid a fragrant wreath at Quaid’s mausoleum, offering prayers (Fatiha), and inscribing his heartfelt sentiments in the guest book.

He acknowledged the tireless efforts of Pakistan’s armed forces in safeguarding the nation’s borders and emphasized that this day dedicated to honoring the sacrifices of our martyrs and veterans.
Air Vice Marshal Ghazanfar Latif highlighted that the love for the homeland and the value of freedom cherished legacies passed down through generations, and each victory achieved by the Pakistan Armed Forces is accompanied by the heartfelt prayers of the entire nation.
He emphasized that September 6th is a remarkable day, when we remember sacrifices for our freedom. Air Vice Marshal Ghazanfar Latif reaffirmed Pakistan’s resilience, stating no force can erase our existence.
